The Tangrenju Ming and Qing Architecture Experience Hall began construction in 2016 and, after nearly a decade of meticulous development, has now become a cultural experience space showcasing the finest examples of Ming and Qing-era architecture from southern Shanxi. Through methods such as relocation and faithful reconstruction using original materials, representative courtyard houses scattered across southern Shanxi have been gathered here, vividly recreating the architectural style of residential buildings from the Ming and Qing periods.

The complex integrates the main courtyard structures of four prominent families from ancient Taiping County—the Wei, Wang, Yang, and Liu families. The seven interconnected courtyards are arranged in an orderly yet varied layout, each featuring traditional entrance walls (zhaobi). The brick and wood carvings and decorative patterns strive to faithfully replicate the styles of the Ming and Qing eras, fully showcasing the spatial design and construction wisdom of southern Shanxi's ancient architecture. Every detail has been arranged in strict accordance with Ming and Qing traditions—from the display methods of Jin-style furniture to the decorative techniques of brick carvings—all aimed at restoring the historical authenticity and providing an immersive experience of life in a southern Shanxi household during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
